Miki Saegusa first appeared in Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) as an instructor at a psychic children's institution and assistant to botanist Doctor Shiragami. She sensed that the monster Biollante was possessed by the spirit of Erika, Shiragami's deceased daughter. During the film's climax, she confronted Godzilla and nearly fell into a coma while bending his will to leave a nuclear power plant. In Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), she joined a time-traveling expedition to 1944 Bikini Islands, identifying the Godzillasaurus before its mutation. Her role expanded in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993) when she joined G-Force and befriended Baby Godzilla. Despite her protests against using the juvenile as bait, she guided Super Mechagodzilla's weaponry to cripple Godzilla, a act that left her crying in shame before she telepathically convinced Baby Godzilla to leave Japan with the adult beast.

In Their Own Story

In Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994), Miki became director of the UNGCC's psychic studies department and advocated for sequestering rather than killing Godzilla. Initially opposing Project-T, a plan to telepathically control the monster, she changed her mind after the Cosmos revealed that SpaceGodzilla was coming and only Godzilla could stop him. On Birth Island, she met Little Godzilla, who recognized her. She successfully placed a mind-control device on Godzilla until SpaceGodzilla's arrival interrupted the operation. Later kidnapped by the Japanese Mafia who funded Project-T to use Godzilla as a mercenary, Miki escaped using telekinesis to levitate the table she was strapped to. After witnessing the mobsters' death at SpaceGodzilla's hands and the final battle, she telekinetically removed the control device from Godzilla's neck following his victory.

By Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995), Miki appeared as a fully integrated G-Force member with technical skills, though her psychic abilities were waning. She monitored the death of Godzilla Junior and the nuclear meltdown death of Godzilla alongside her team, eventually mourning his passing. Outside the films, she appears in the 2012 comic Godzilla: Legends by IDW, running a school for psychic children where she recruits an American boy named Tristian. Her training aims to teach students to communicate with monsters like she did with Godzilla, but Tristian's powers accidentally summon Titanosaurus to attack the school.
